Removing and installing exterior mirror

7.2.1 Removing and installing exterior mirror, manually operated

Removing
- Remove front door trim ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr. 70; Front door trims; Removing and installing front door trim.
- Detach existing connector -2- for exterior mirror -1-.
- Pull handle -5- for manual adjustment.
- Screw down nut -6-.
- Unscrew bolt -4-.

- Pull lower part of exterior mirror away from the door a little and pull it out of the window channel -2- -arrow-.
- Insert cable -3- through the hole in the door.

Installing
- Check that the damping element -5- is correctly seated.
- Guide cable -4- through the hole.
- Push exterior mirror into window channel -2- and fold exterior mirror -1- against the door.

- Tighten bolt -4-. Specified torque: 12 Nm.
- Tighten securing nut -6-. Specified torque: 1.5 Nm.
- Push handle -5- onto operating mechanism.
- Connect connector -2-.
- Carry out functional test function before installing door trim.
7.2.2 Removing and installing exterior mirror, electrically operated

Removing
- Remove front door trim ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr. 70; Front door trims; Removing and installing front door trim.
- Disconnect connector -2- for exterior mirror -1-.
- Unscrew bolt -4-.

- Pull lower part of exterior mirror away from the door a little and pull it out of the window channel -2- -arrow-.
- Pull out cable -3- through hole in door.

Installing
- Check that the damping element -5- is correctly seated.
- Guide cable -4- through the hole.
- Push exterior mirror -1- into window channel -2- and fold mirror against the door.

- Tighten bolt -4-. Specified torque: 12 Nm.
- Attach electrical connector -2-.
- Carry out functional test function before installing door trim.
