Control panels for VW Polo 6R.
Can I change the panel from manual/semi-automatic air conditioning to the panel from Climatronic?
Yes, you can change the panel from manual/semi-automatic air conditioning (with dials), to a Climatronic panel (with display), but in addition to replacing the panel itself, you will need to replace the heater and harnesses. This is described in more detail on my blog: changing manual air conditioning to Climatronic.
How do I change the Climatronic panel with the blue backlight to the newer version (negative)?
Climatronic display with white backlight
The black and white display of the Climatronic panel and RCD-210/RCD-310 radio was present in all Polo 6Rs after the small facelift, which is assigned for the 2012 model year (i.e., cars from July 2011). Also changed at that time were, among other things, the front upper dummies/grills –> satin black was replaced by gloss black, etc. cosmetic details. Replacing the panel is trivial - we do not need to change the coding for this, just pull off the frame of the radio and air conditioning panel, unscrew the panel (torx from the bottom), remove it and insert the new one).
Examples of panel with blue backlight part numbers (2009-2011):
- 6R0907044A
- 6R0907044B
- 6R0907044E
- 6R0907044D
- 6R0907044E
Examples of panel with white backlight (2012+):
- 6R0907044H
- 6R0907044K
- 6R0907044L
- 6R0907044N
- 6R0907044P
- 6R0907044Q
Letter H and subsequent letters of the alphabet = version with black and white display (negative + white backlight).
Does the Climatronic air conditioning panel from the Polo 6C fit the Polo 6R?
No, the Climatronic panel from the Polo 6C (PQ26) does not work in the Polo 6R (PQ25).
