Removing and installing adapter for rear door cover

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• Removal wedge - 3409-

• Hot-air blower - V.A.G 1416-

Removing

• Rear door must be partially open.
• Rear door cover has been removed.

• Heat up rear door adapter -1- using hot air blower - V.A.G 1416-.
• Raise a corner of rear door adapter -1- using removal wedge
  • 3409-.
• Grasp the corner, and forcefully pull rear door adapter -1- off the rear door -2-.

Installing

• Repair instructions ⇒ 10.1 Repair instructions
• Align rear door adapter -1- to rear door -2-.
• Pull off protective foil -3- and press rear door adapter -1- on in one direction.
