Step-by-step fitting of the front mud flaps on the Volkswagen Polo from 2009.

Fitting

1. Tools: pencil, drill with a Ø 2,5 mm bit, Torx T25 key, 10 mm and 19 mm open-end spanners.

2. Remove the front wheel.

3. Unscrew the screws (A) from the wheel housing.

4. Hold the mud flap in place, align it (1) and screw it on with the screws (A) (2).

5. Mark the hole positions with a pencil through the holes in the mud flap.

6. Unscrew the screws (A) and take the mud flap off.

8. Push the clips (C) and (D) onto the holes.

9. Hold the mud flap in place, align it (1) and screw it on with the screws (A) (2).

10. Screw the mud flap on with the screws (B).

11. Drill the hole through the mud flap's lower tab.

12. Fit the screw (B) (1) and tighten the nut with a 10 mm spanner (2).

13. Fit the bracket (1) and tighten it with a 10 mm spanner, holding it with a 19 mm spanner (2).

14. Refit the wheel.
