Extension kit for a 3rd bike
Preparing the carrier

- Remove the bike carrier from the vehicle; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
- Unscrew the nuts (1) and remove the wheel rails (2) using the screws (3) and washers (4).
- Unscrew the nuts (5) and remove the lighting unit (6) using the screws (7).
- Unscrew the nuts (8), release the number plate holder (9) using the clips, and remove it using the screws (10) and washers (11).
Fitting the carrier extension

- Attach the carrier extension (1) to the base frame (2). To do this, secure the carrier extension (1) using the wheel rails (3), screws (4), spacers (5), and nuts (6). Tightening torque: 8 Nm
- Snap the number plate holder (7) into place using the spacers (8), then secure it with screws (9), washers (10), and nuts (11). Tightening torque: 8 Nm
- Secure the lighting unit (12) with screws (13) and nuts (14). Tightening torque: 8 Nm
- Install the number plate.
- Attach the bike carrier to the vehicle; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
Mounting the Bicycles

- Mount the first two bicycles; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
- Position the third bicycle in the same manner as the first bicycle and secure it using the Holder for the 1st bike (1) from the second bicycle to the third bicycle at a suitable location.
- Tighten the clamp (2) with the screw (3), lock it with the key (4), and remove the key (4).
- Tighten the tensioning straps; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
Tilting the bike carrier
The bike carrier can be tilted 90° for loading and unloading the vehicle; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
Folding the carrier frame down/up
The carrier frame can be folded down for space-saving storage; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
Installing the extension kit for a 4th bike
Fitting the carrier extension

- Prepare the carrier; see “Preparing the Carrier.”
- Attach the carrier extension (1) to the base frame (2). To do this, secure the carrier extension (1) using the wheel rails (3), screws (4), spacers (5), and nuts (6). Tightening torque: 8 Nm
- Screw the number plate holder and lighting unit in place; see “Fitting the carrier extension.”
- Install the number plate.
- Secure the bike carrier to the vehicle; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
Fitting the carrier frame

- Remove the carrier frame; see the P21/P31 bike carrier installation and operating instructions.
- Screw on the clamps (1) using screws (2) and slide the brackets (3) and (4) down.
- Slide brackets (3) and (4) onto the carrier frame (5) and tighten the screws (2).
- Tighten the buckles (6) with screws (7), washers (8), and nuts (9) just enough so that the buckles (6) can still be rotated.
- Fit the carrier frame (5); see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
- Thread the tension belts (10) through the buckles (6).
- Stick the paint protection film (11) onto the hooks (12).
- Attach the bike carrier to the vehicle; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
- Stick the paint protection film (13) onto the tailgate (14). The measurement (A) should be approximately 200 mm.
- Hook the hooks (12) into place and tighten the tension belts (10) using the buckles (6).
Mounting Bicycles

- Mount the first three bicycles; see “Mounting Bicycles.”
- Position the fourth bicycle in the same way as the second bicycle and secure it at a suitable location using the bracket (1) from the third bicycle to the fourth bicycle.
- Tighten the clamp (2) with the screw (3), lock it with the key (4), and remove the key (4).
- Tighten the tensioning straps; see the installation and operating instructions for the P21/P31 bike carrier.
