Removing and installing bonnet

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Torque wrench - V.A.G 1331-

Removing

  • Remove spray jets -5- ⇒ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 92; Window washer system; Removing and installing spray jets.
  • Unclip line -4- from bonnet -1-.
  • Pull line -4- out of opening in bonnet -1-.
  • Loosen hexagonal nuts -3- on left and right hinge -2- (do not remove).

Further removal requires the help of a second mechanic.

  • Remove support rod -6- from bonnet.
  • Only now unscrew nuts -3- and lift bonnet -1- away from hinges -2-.

Installing

Installation of bonnet -1- is carried out accordingly in reverse order of removal.
