Removing and installing bonnet lock

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• Torque wrench - V.A.G 1331-

Removing

• Remove rear lid trim ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr. 70; Luggage compartment trims; Removing and installing lower rear lid trim.
• Disconnect connector -3- from rear lid lock -1-.
• Unscrew bolts -2- and remove lid lock -1- from rear lid -4-.

Installing

• Mount rear lid lock -1- on rear lid -4- and tighten bolts -2-.
• Specified torque for bolts -2-: 23 Nm.
• Fit electrical connector -3- on lid lock -1-.

Further installation is carried out in reverse order of removal.

• Before closing rear lid, check function of lid release components.
