Removing and installing door arrester

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• Torque wrench - V.A.G 1331-

• Torque wrench - V.A.G 1783-

Removing

• Remove loudspeaker ⇒ Communication; Rep. gr. 91; Sound system; Removing and installing rear bass loudspeakers - R15- / -R17-.
• Unscrew bolt -4- in B-pillar.
• Undo bolts -3- and then remove door retaining strap -1- through the opening of the loudspeaker -arrows a and b-.

Installing

• Check seating of cover -2- on door retaining strap -1-.
• Insert door retaining strip through the opening of the loudspeaker.
• Tighten bolts -3-, specified torque: 9 Nm.
• Tighten bolt -4-, specified torque: 30 Nm.
