Removing and installing engine (motor) control unit - J623-

When renewing engine control unit:

• Connect vehicle diagnostic tester.
• Perform function 0001 - Engine control unit renewal.

Removing

• Switch off ignition.

• Disconnect battery ⇒ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27; Battery; Disconnecting and connecting battery.

• Release -arrow- connectors from engine control unit and pull off.

• Press clips -arrows A- outwards and pull engine control unit out to side -B-.

Installing

• Insert new engine control unit and press to left.
• Connect connectors and lock.
• Connect vehicle diagnostic tester.
• Select function 0001 - Entry in event memory.
• Clear event memory.
• Carry out road test.
• Read event memory again.

If engine control has been renewed:

Connect battery ⇒ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27; Battery; Disconnecting and connecting battery.

• Connect vehicle diagnostic tester.
• Select function 0001 - Engine control unit renewal.
