Brake pedal, right-hand drive – assembly overview and fastening

The brake light switch is located on the brake master cylinder.

5.2.1 Separating brake pedal from brake booster

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Release tool - T 10159A-
  • First press brake pedal in direction of brake booster and hold.
  • 2 Plunger rod
  • 3 Retaining lugs
  • Insert release tool - T10159A- and pull towards driver seat, counter holding on brake pedal.
  • Pull release tool - T10159A- and brake pedal together towards driver seat.

As a result, the brake pedal is pulled off.

5.2.2 Clipping brake pedal to brake booster

  • Hold ball head of plunger rod in front of mounting and push brake pedal in direction of brake booster, so that the ball head clicks into place.
  • Check engagement by pulling briefly on brake pedal.

5.2.3 Removing pedal cluster

Removing

  • Undo bolted connection -arrow A- of trim -1- for the foot support.
  • Pull trim -1- for foot support upwards out of the lower guide in -direction of arrow-.
  • Remove trim -1- for foot support.
  • Twist out snap fastener -arrow B- and remove trim -2- of steering column.
  • Release connector of accelerator pedal position sender - G79- and pull it off.
  • Separate brake pedal from brake booster ⇒ 5.2.1 Separating brake pedal from brake booster.
  • Unscrew bolts -arrows- of pedal cluster.
  • Remove foot pedal cluster.

5.2.4 Installing pedal cluster

Install in reverse order. Note the following points:

5.2.5 Removing brake pedal

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Release tool - T 10159-

Carry out the following work:

Removing

  • Loosen nut -2- whilst counterholding with bolt -1-.
  • Remove brake pedal.

5.2.6 Installing brake pedal

Install in reverse order. Note the following points:
