Adjusting handbrake
A new adjustment is only necessary after renewing, handbrake cables, brake calipers and brake discs.
- Depending on equipment version of centre console, remove only cup holder, rear cover or complete centre console ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr. 68; Compartments, covers and trims.
- The foot brake must be functional and bled.
- Firmly depress brake pedal three times.

- Handbrake lever in rest position. Tighten adjusting nut -arrow A- until levers -arrow B- on brake calipers lift off stop.
Adjustment nut -A- must be screwed over end of pull rod -1-.

- The total distance -a- of level -1- to stops -2- on left and right brake calipers must not exceed 1.5 mm.
- Firmly pull on and then release handbrake.
- Check that both wheels turn freely.
- Install centre console extension. ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr. 68; Compartments, covers and trims.
Due to the automatic rear wheel brake adjustment there is no requirement to adjust the handbrake after making new/initial adjustment.
