Removing and installing lock carrier

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Guide pins - 3411-
  • Adapter - T10480-

Removing

  • Move to service position ⇒ 1.3 Moving to and back from service position.
  • Disconnect any electrical connectors.
  • Drain coolant and disconnect coolant lines ⇒ Rep. gr. 19; Cooling system, coolant; Draining and filling coolant.
  • Disconnect refrigerant lines for condenser ⇒ Heating, air conditioning; Rep. gr. 87; Refrigerant circuit; Removing and installing condenser.
  • Remove bolts and special tool adapter - T10480-.
  • With aid of a second mechanic, remove guide pins - 3411- or guide pins - T10228- from left and right longitudinal members -2-.
  • Lift out lock carrier -1- with attachments.

Installing

  • Place lock carrier -1- on longitudinal members -2- with the help of a second mechanic.

Further installation is carried out in reverse order of removal. Observe the following.

  • During assembly, ensure that all connectors and hose connections are properly fitted.
