Cylinder block, gearbox end – assembly overview and fastening

1 Seal ⇒ 2.1 Assembly overview - cylinder block, gearbox end
- Can only be renewed complete with sealing flange ⇒ 1.9.2 Ancillary bracket (removing and installing).
- Do not apply additional oil or grease the sealing lip of the oil seal.
- Before installing, remove oil residues from crankshaft journal and cylinder block using a clean cloth.
2 Sealing flange ⇒ 2.1 Assembly overview - cylinder block, gearbox end
- Renew
- Must seat on dowel sleeves.
- Removing and installing ⇒ 1.9.2 Ancillary bracket (removing and installing)
3 Cylinder block

- Dismantling and assembling pistons and conrods ⇒ 4 Pistons and conrods
4 Flywheel
- When removing and installing flywheel, lock with counterhold - 3386-.
5 60 Nm + ¹/4 turn (90°) further
- Renew
6 Adapter
- Must seat on dowel sleeves.
- Do not damage or bend when assembling.
7 15 Nm
8 Sealing flange with oil seal
- Only renew as entire unit together with seal and sender wheel
- To remove, first remove sump ⇒ 1.3 Removing and installing sump.
- Removing and installing ⇒ 2.2 Removing and installing flywheel
9 Engine speed sender - G28-
- Removing and installing ⇒ 1.4.1 Removing
