Part I, belt drive – assembly overview and fastening

1 Toothed belt guard upper part
2 20 Nm + ¹/4 turn further (90°)
- Renew
- Use camshaft lock - T10016- to loosen and tighten ⇒ 2.1 Assembly overview.
3 Camshaft sprocket
- Note position when installing toothed belt ⇒ 1.3 Removing, installing and tensioning toothed belt.
4 Coupling drive tensioning roller
- Checking ⇒ 1.4 Checking semi-automatic toothed belt tensioner
- Tensioning toothed belts ⇒ 1.3 Removing, installing and tensioning toothed belt.
5 Coupling drive toothed belt
- Mark direction of rotation before removing
- Check for wear
- Do not kink

6 Bracket
- Not installed for engine code CGGB
7 10 Nm
8 Coolant pump
- If damaged or leaking, renew complete.

15 Main drive toothed belt
- Mark direction of rotation before removing
- Check for wear
- Do not kink

16 12 Nm
- Renew
17 Belt pulley
- When installing note fixing arrangement.

18 Securing bolt
- Note tightening sequence ⇒ 2.4 Poly V-belt pulley securing bolt tightening procedure.
- Renew
- Coat with oil before inserting
- Secure belt pulley against turning with counterhold - 3415-.
- Turning further can be done in several stages.
- The turning further angle can be measured with a commercial protractor.
