Removing and installing poly-V belt

The sequence is described for vehicles with an air conditioning system only.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• 16 mm spanner

Removing

• Remove engine splash protection.
• Mark direction of rotation of poly V-belt.

• Swing poly V-belt tensioning element with a 16 mm spanner in direction of arrow to slacken belt.
• Remove poly V-belt.

Installing

• Fit poly V-belt first over crankshaft pulley. Finally, push belt onto tensioning roller.

Further assembly is basically a reverse of the dismantling sequence.

After completing repairs always:

• Start engine and check belt running

• 1 Alternator pulley
• 2 Air conditioner compressor
• 3 Crankshaft/belt pulley.
• 4 Tensioning pulley
