1.2 TDI CR engine (EA189) · Mixture preparation – injection · Injection system
Schematic overview - fuel system
To prevent the high-pressure fuel pump from running while it is empty and to ensure that the engine starts quickly after parts have been renewed, it is important to observe the following:
- If fuel system components between fuel tank and fuel highpressure pump are removed or renewed;
- If a fuel pump, fuel line or fuel filter is removed or replaced.
- If the fuel high-pressure pump is removed or replaced
- Connect vehicle diagnostic tester.
- Perform the function “Fuel pump activation (Filling/bleeding fuel system)” in “Guided Functions” ⇒ 1.3 Filling/bleeding fuel system.
- 1 Fuel metering valve - N290-
- Do not open.
- 2 High-pressure pump
- After renewing, a first fuel filling “must” be performed (never allow pump to run while dry) ⇒ 1.3 Filling/bleeding fuel system.
