Checking for leaks in the fuel system

Procedure

• Allow engine to run at average revs for a few minutes.
• Switch off ignition.
• Check the entire fuel system for leaks.
• If leaks are found although the connections have been tightened to the correct torque, the relevant component must be renewed.
• Then road test the vehicle, accelerating to full throttle at least once.
• Finally, check the high-pressure area for leaks again.
