5.1.1 Removing and installing sill panel mouldings, 2-door models

Removing

• Pull sill panel moulding -1-, in transitional area to A-pillar, from mountings in side member -arrow A-.
• Pull sill panel moulding out of remaining mountings in side member -arrows B- and -arrows C-.

Installing

• Install in reverse order of removal.
• Ensure that sill panel moulding is positioned in beading of door seal.

5.1.2 Removing and installing sill panel mouldings, 4-door models

Only what differs from the procedure above; everything else is as above.

• Torque wrench - V.A.G 1783-

Removing

• Remove bench seat ⇒ 2.1 Removing and installing bench seat / individual seats.
• Remove wheel housing trim ⇒ 5.8 Removing and installing wheel housing trims.
• Remove clip -1- and unclip sill panel moulding -2-.

• If fitted, disconnect connector from interior monitor switch - E183-.
