Removing and installing coolant pump belt pulley (Polo, Touran, Golf Plus, Eos, Tiguan, Scirocco, Golf, Golf Cabriolet)

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Bit XZN 10 - T10154-
  • Hose clamp pliers - VAS 6340-
  • Torque wrench - V.A.G 1331-

Removing

Golf Plus, Eos, Scirocco, Golf, Golf Cabriolet, Touran, Polo

  • Remove noise insulation ⇒ General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr. 50; Body - front, noise insulation.

Tiguan

  • Depending on vehicle equipment, remove noise insulation or skid plate ⇒ General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr. 50; Removing and installing noise insulation or skid plate.

Continued for all vehicles

  • Pull retaining clip in direction of -arrow- and pull out charge air hose -1- from charge air pipe.
  • Unscrew securing bolt for charge air pipe -arrow-.
  • Remove securing bolt -arrow- for charge air pipe -1-.
  • Release and pull off connector -1- on oil level and oil temperature sender - G266-.
  • Unclip bracket -2- for electric wire to oil level and oil temperature sender - G266-.

Only vehicles with auxiliary heater

  • Remove coolant hoses for auxiliary heater.

Continued for all vehicles

  • Carefully press locking tabs on noise insulation housing for supercharger -arrows- outwards.
  • Pull off housing with noise insulation and place to one side.
  • Lift engine cover panel at points -1- and pull it forwards in direction of -arrow-.
  • Detach fuel supply line -1- and line leading to activated charcoal filter -2- by pressing the release tabs.
  • Pull off hose -1- from pressure pipe.
  • Unscrew securing bolts -2- from pressure pipe and remove pressure pipe.
  • Unscrew hose clip -1- on charge air pipe.
  • Open hose clip -2- and pull out hose.
  • Unscrew securing bolt for charge air pipe -3-.
  • Remove bracket -4-.
  • To do so, remove bolts -arrows-.
  • Remove bracket -1-.
  • Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove charge pressure sender - G31- -1-.
  • Remove charge air pipe downwards.
  • Loosen securing bolts -1- for coolant pump pulley.
  • Unscrew securing bolts -1- and pull pulley from coolant pump.

Installing

Further installation is carried out in reverse order of removal. When installing, note the following:

  • Push engine cover panel down at points -1- in direction of -arrow- until it engages.
