Removing and installing ignition coils with output stage

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• Assembly tool - T10118-

• Puller - T10094 A-

• Remove marked area -2- using suitable workshop equipment to attain the new nominal dimension -B- of 18 mm.
• Add the letter A to the end of tool designation -1-.

Removing

• Lift engine cover panel at points -1- and pull it forwards in direction of -arrow-.

• Unscrew securing bolts -1- from crankcase breather union and non-return valve.
• Pull off connector -2- from turbocharger air recirculation valve - N249- and pull off hose connection -3-.
• Carefully pull hose -4- off intake manifold connection.

• Fit puller - T10094 A- on ignition coil with final output stage -arrow-
• Slightly pull out ignition coil with output stage.
• Fit assembly tool - T10118- as shown.
• Carefully release connector locking mechanism, and pull off connector.

Installing

• Fit puller - T10094 A- on ignition coil with output stage.
• Slide connector on ignition coil with output stage until it audibly engages.

• Press ignition coil with output stage into cylinder head in direction of -arrow-.

• Push rubber grommet -1- into hose -2-.
• Push hose -2- onto intake manifold connection -3-.

Further installation is carried out in reverse order of removal.

Specified torques of securing bolts for crankcase breather connection and for non-return valve: 10 Nm
