Removing and installing oil pump

Removing

• Remove sump ⇒ 1.3 Removing and installing sump.

• Pull cover -1- off sprocket for oil pump.
• Hold oil pump sprocket with counterhold - T10172-.

• Loosen sprocket securing bolt.

• Press chain tensioner in direction of -arrow- with a screwdriver.
• Remove sprocket securing bolt.
• Take sprocket off oil pump and out of chain.

• Loosen oil pump securing bolts -arrows- and remove them.
• Remove oil pump from cylinder block.

Installing

• Install oil pump and tighten securing bolts to 14 Nm + ¹/4 turn (90°) further.

Specified torque oil suction pipe: 9 Nm

• Press chain tensioner in direction of -arrow- with a screwdriver.
• Insert sprocket in chain and fit sprocket onto oil pump shaft.

• Observe installation position of sprocket on oil pump shaft -arrows-.
• Screw in sprocket securing bolt.
• Hold sprocket with counterhold - T10172-.

• Position torque wrench - V.A.G 1331- as shown.
• Tighten securing bolt to 20 Nm +¹/4 turn (90°) further.

• Install cover -1-.
• Install sump ⇒ 1.3 Removing and installing sump.
