Front exhaust system with attachments – assembly overview and fastening

• 1 Warm air collector plate
• 2 10 Nm
• 3 Lambda probe - G39-, 50 Nm
  • Grease only the threads with “G 052 112 A3”; “G 052 112 A3” cannot get into the slots on the probe body.
  • Remove and install using ring spanner for Lambda probe - 3337-
  • If seal is leaking, nip open and renew.
• 4 Exhaust manifold with starter catalytic converter
  • Protect from damage by knocks and impact.
• 5 Seal
  • Renew
• 6 25 Nm
  • Renew
• 7 Connector
  • 4-pin
• 8 Connector
  • 4-pin
• 9 Lambda probe after catalytic converter - G130-, 55 Nm
  • Grease only thread with high-temperature paste
    • G 052 112 A3-. Do not allow high-temperature

paste - G 052 112 A3- to get into slots of probe body.

• The connector is located beneath right underbody panel

• 10 Double clamp, 25 Nm
  • Before tightening, align cold exhaust system free of tension

  • Tighten bolted connections evenly.
• 11 Front tunnel cross-piece
• 12 23 Nm
• 13 Catalytic converter with exhaust pipe
  • With flexible connection (de-coupling element).
  • Do not bend flexible connection more than 10° - otherwise it can be damaged.
• 14 Mounting
  • Renew if damaged
• 15 20 Nm
• 16 40 Nm
  • Renew

Installation position of double clamp

• Install double clamp so that the end of the bolt does not extend beyond lower edge of clamp.
