Ignition/starter switch 7E0905865

Ignition starter switch for VW Polo 6R.

This part is installed behind the ignition cylinder on the steering column and is responsible for switching the ignition and power circuits.

The newer 7E0905865 switch is grey, while the older 6R0905865 is black.

Typical symptoms of a faulty ignition switch include: no response when turning the key (the engine does not start), the engine stalling while driving, flickering or interrupted lighting and other electrical components powered by the ignition, and a lack of electrical power after inserting the key.
